How To Care For Your Earrings

Update Your Earring Holder

If you are like me and have dozens of earrings and a regular jewelry box than you may do what I do, I toss them in compartments! Not the smartest thing but I am always in a rush and don't take care of my earrings as much as I do my necklaces. With that said, I have come to the realization that if I want to save time in the morning I need to be more organized. Being more organized will not only save me time but it will protect my earrings from getting tangled, broken, and losing one of the pairs.

I was looking around for earring holders and found some really cute and fairly inexpensive earring holders

But I could not find something that really screamed ME so I turned to Pinterest! There I found DYI earring holders that would satisfy anyone's needs. Most of them are very simple and only need a few items that you can find in your home or at your local store.

Here are just a few great ideas I found:

One was made with old CD's, another with a baking rack and the third with plastic storage drawers and some foam. I loved all these ideas, they are simple and will accommodate different style earrings and I can keep adding on to them.

Need to update how you store your earrings? Take a look at Pinterest for great choices.

Necklaces For Every Neckline

Which Necklace Goes With This Neckline?

Do you ever feel that you don’t know what style necklace to wear with your outfits? Well we are here to give you some simple guidelines. These are not hard and fast rules, just a guideline to make picking the perfect necklace fast and easy.

V Neck

V-necklines usually show more skin which means you have more room to express yourself. Necklaces in a ’V’ shape or short collar style compliments this neckline. A ‘V’ shape necklace can be anything from a simple metal chain with a pendant to a bold beaded necklace with a pendant or multi stone bib necklaces. As with the ‘V’ shaped necklaces, collar necklaces of metal or stones look just right.

Blouses

A button up shirt is a basic top that you will find in every women’s closet, its simple, neat and compliments skirts, pants, jeans, and shorts.  But do you know what the best necklace to wear with it is?

Bib and collar necklaces look polished with a fully buttoned shirt by wearing the necklace under the collar so the front is seen between the collar ends. But even if you have an open collar, a collared necklace will still look great.

Another popular style for open collars is the layered look; this can be short or long layers. Layering metal with metal, metal with beads, or beads with beads this will make a bold yet subtle statement.

Crew Neckline

Crew necklines are the most versatile necklines when it comes to necklaces.

If wearing a crew neckline, collar necklaces worn close to the neck with bold beads and or metal really elevates an outfit.

Long and short necklaces are simple and effective as are the layered look.  Short to long layers is a simple effective look.

Scoop necklines which are crew necklines just a little deeper have more room for play like the ‘V’ neckline. Statement necklaces, bold and beautiful make it easy to accessorize a plain top. Go for color and texture. If you want to keep it simple opt for a simple metal necklace, layered or not, its simple and easy.

Strapless

A strapless dress or top is a classic look, it can be elegant or fun, it’s all about your neck and shoulders and with that said, short necklaces looks great, emphasizing your neckline. A necklace 12”-16” sits far above the neckline emphasizing your neck and shoulders. But that's not to say a multi strand of pearls wouldn't look just as fabulous, all eyes will be on your necklace.

If you are making an elegant statement my first choice is a simple strand of pearls but a gold or silver thick chain looks just as pretty.

But if you want to make your outfit pop add a bold statement necklace with mixed metals, beads, stones, flowers, or nautical themes for fun.
